Before taking Cialis

If you are taking nitrate medicines for chest pain or heart problems it is forbidden to you to take the Cialis. This warning also includes nitroglycerin (Nitrostat, Nitrolingual, Nitro-Dur, Nitro-Bid, and others), isosorbide dinitrate (Dilatrate-SR, Isordil, Sorbitrate), and isosorbide mononitrate (Imdur, ISMO, Monoket). Nitrates could be also an ingredient of some recreational drugs such as amyl nitrate or nitrite. When you take Cialis simultaneously with nitrate drugs there are possible very serious side effects like decrease in blood pressure what leads to fainting, stroke or heart attack.

If you are allergic to any drugs or suffer from any of the diseases listed bellow, tell your doctor before taking Cialis.

  • heart rhythm problems or heart disease;
  • a latest history a heart attack (within the past 90 days);
  • a latest history of stroke or congestive heart failure (within the past 6 months);
  • angina (chest pain);
  • high or low blood pressure;
  • liver disease;
  • kidney disease (or if you are on dialysis);
  • a blood cell disorder such as sickle cell anemia, multiple myeloma, or leukemia;
  • a bleeding disorder such as hemophilia;
  • a stomach ulcer;
  • retinitis pigmentosa (an inherited condition of the eye);
  • a physical deformity of the penis (such as Peyronie’s disease); or if you have been told you should not have sexual intercourse for health reasons.

You may need a dosage adjustment or additional tests to keep you safe during Cialis treatment if you suffer from any of these conditions listed above.

Cialis may be responsible for decreasing blood flow to the optic nerve of the eye, what lead to sudden vision loss. This was noted in a small number of patients who take Cialis, most of them suffer from different heart diseases, are a diabetes, smokes a lot, have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, they are over 50 years old or have some problems with eyes, before treatment. It wasn’t sad that Cialis really cause a vision loss, however if you have sudden vision loss, stop taking Cialis immediately and seek for emergency medical help.

FDA gives Cialis pregnancy category B: Although Cialis is not designed for women; this drug is not expected to be harmful to an unborn baby. However if you are pregnant or plan to have a baby do not take Cialis without telling that your doctor. It is not known if Cialis passes into human milk or if it could have impact at a nursing baby. So once again if you are breast-feeding a baby do not take Cialis without doctor consultation.

If you are over 65 it may be need to you to get the lower dose of this medication due to your health safety. Remember to always follow your doctor’s advises and precautions.
