Erectile Dysfunction drugs may heighten the level of Orgasm Hormone

If we could believe the recent research made, erectile dysfunction medicines like a Cialis, Viagra and Levitra are able to increase the fabrication of oxytocin, a reproductive hormone which is discharge during orgasm.

This news was pronounced by scientists from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. Tadalafil (ingredient which is active in Cialis) sildenafil (active ingredient of Viagra), vardenafil (Levitra’s active ingredient) and an allied chemical known as T-1032 have been taken to the lab tests with rats.

The scientists made rats to expose their pituitary gland’s part to the chemical substance they had chosen, also known as PDE5 inhibitors, in addition to mild electrical stimulation. Tests showed that rat’s pituitary glands made more oxytocin.

However study didn’t answer the most important question if it will be working in humans as it works on rats?

Therefore, more research is required on this topic because oxytocin takes an important part in various reproductive functions, said researcher Meyer Jackson, Ph. D, and their colleagues.

This study also didn’t show any signs of improvement in oxytocin fabrication without stimulation.

Jackson said: “Erectile dysfunction drugs do not result erections spontaneously; they only enhance the response to sexual stimulation”.

He also added: “The same thing is applicable in case of rats’ posterior pituitary. Cialis, Viagra and other ED related drugs will not encourage the liberation of oxytocin on its own, but it will only augment the amount of release that one get in response to electrical stimulation,”
