“Erectile Dysfunction and Smoking are linked”, Says Researchers
Risk of getting erectile dysfunction is much higher in men who are addicted to cigarettes. According to study made by Tulane University researchers, the more man smokes cigarettes, the greater the risk of getting ED is.
This study had been founded by a team of researchers directed by Jiang He, Professor of Epidemiology at the Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine and published in the American Journal of Epidemiology. The researchers looked closer at the connection between smoking a cigarette and erectile dysfunction in a study made in China on 7,684 men in 2000-2001. To asses the impact of cigarette smoking on the erectile dysfunction, the researchers gave men with no vascular disease special questionnaires. Men who take part in the study got 35 to 74 years.
Researchers came up with that there was a major arithmetical connection between the number of cigarettes burned by men and their probability of having erectile dysfunction. This connection is even stronger if the man suffers from diabetes. Study showed that about 22.7 percent of erectile dysfunction cases in Chinese men could be linked to cigarette smoking.
Despite of that Erectile Dysfunction is not an acute health condition, it has impact on the ones well-being and quality of life. The results of Tulane research suggest that fact smoking is strongly connected with ED should be used to decrease the possibility of erectile dysfunction.
